Comic-Con 2010 Day 1: Dreamworks' Megamind Panel Courtesy of Geek Tyrant

Will Ferrell walked onto the stage only as Will Ferrell could. Hall-H of the San Diego Convention Center was abuzz as he walked out in a costume of the title character that he voices in MEGAMIND. Although the costume was very crudely constructed (including glitter, cheap plastic, and Ferrell's face cover in what he claimed was blue spray paint) it worked perfectly. Ferrell was joined on stage by fellow Megamind film voices Tina Fey and Jonah Hill. Since the female half of Brangelina is doing the Salt panel, someone had to watch the kids. So, a cardboard cut-out of Brad Pitt in a tux was brought out to field questions! The film's director Tom McGrath was also on the four person (+ cardboard Brad) panel. They talked about the film in the "you had to be there to think it was funny" banter that you would expect from the Ferrell, Fey, and Hill. Jonah Hill even broke some news in announcing that it was indeed official that he had been cast as Hulk in the new Marvel Avengers movie! (He was kidding of course!)

Some footage from the film was shown that I would rather not describe being that it would probably spoil a key storyline. They didn't deliberately do it, but it was kind of obvious as to what was going to most likely happen in the film. Jonah Hill also refused to reveal what his character's "twist" is.

I had some reservations about this film being too cheesy for my liking, but after seeing more footage, it looks even funnier (still cheesy though), seems to have more to the story than the trailer lets on, and just seems pretty well done. The 3D looks great too. I'm definitely going to see it now!
