Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige previously told Devin Faraci from Badass Digest that Fox only owned the rights to the Super Skrull. Turns out it looks like they actually owned the entire Skrull Empire. Here's what Faraci had to say about this recently...
"Well, it turns out that either he was jumping the gun or someone in legal didn't want to test the difference between those two concepts, and the aliens in The Avengers have been rebranded as something else, as well as redesigned."
That means the Skrull army will be replaced in the film with "different" alien army...
