Comic-Con 2010 Day 2: The Expendables Panel Courtesy of Geek Tyrant

Harry Knowles from Ain't It Cool News moderated the panel, which consisted of Sylvester Stallone, Dolph Lundgren, Randy Couture, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and Terry Crews. After Crews jumped up on the table and gave his patented "chest dance" from those hyper-testosterone fueled Old Spice commercials, the rest of the cast was introduced - including a special appearance from Bruce Willis!

The panel was really laid back, with Harry asking questions about the filming process and the audience praising Stallone's decision to avoid 3D and shoot the movie "old school" in 2D and without a lot of CGI. Stallone revealed that he used to wear a Superman suit underneath his clothes when he was a kid, and he's always been drawn to stories of heroism.

A representative from the Guinness Book of World Records made a surprise appearance on stage to present Stallone the award for the most successful sports franchise of all time (Rocky). Lundgren was also given an award for his involvement in the franchise - in case you're completely unaware, Lundgren played Ivan Drago in Rocky IV.

During a Q&A section, someone asked Sly if he spoke to other action stars about joining the cast, and he revealed that he spoke to Steven Segal, Jean Claude Van Damme, and even Chuck Norris about roles. Due to scheduling conflicts and, to quote Stallone directly, "insanity," it didn't work out.

Stallone found a 60-year-old plane in the jungles of Brazil, and talking about how badass his cast was, he asked Jason Statham if he'd be willing to hang out of the front of the plane even though it was all rusted up and hadn't been off the ground in four years. Statham simply asked, "When do we start?"

They also revealed a few action sequences from the film, and I'll say that if you're looking forward to this movie, you won't be disappointed with it. Excessive violence, badassery, and one-liners abound.

Kick Ass and Expendables Updates

Aiight cuzzo. I got some good news and some bad news. First, the bad news. The Expendables starring and directed by Sylvester Stallone has been pushed back from April 23rd 2010 to August 20th 2010.

Yeah it sucks. We have to wait four more months for "The Manliest Movie of All Time", but the good news I have is the reason why this film has been pushed back...

The good news is, Lionsgate has purchased Matthew
Vaughn's graphic novel adaptation Kick Ass and they have officially set a release date! Kick Ass is set to come out April 16th 2010! This is big news. Now Lionsgate has two tough movies coming out next year and I can't wait.

2010 is looking like a movie mecca. What do you guys think of these new developments? Stay up for more buzz.

The Expendables

Aiight, cuzzo. Sylvester Stallone has written, directed and is starring in what's being called the "Manliest Movie of All-Time." This movie is called The Expendables and its about a group of mercenaries who travel to South America to overthrow a dictator, but let's be honest, the plot probably won't be that important in this film. And that's ok because this testoterone- based epic has an allstar cast.

Its features: Sylvester Stallone (Rocky), Jet Li (Hero), Jason Stathom (Crank), Terry Crews (Friday After Next), Forest Whitaker (Panic Room), Stone Cold Steve Austin (WWE), Dolph Lundgren (Showdown in Little Tokyo), Randy Couture (UFC), Arnold Scwarzenegger (Terminator), and Mickey Rourke (The Wrestler). This movie might be out of control! With a cast of this magnitude, the execution must be on point. I'm really excited for this. What do ya'll think? Its set to hit theaters April 23rd, 2010. I'll keep ya'll posted on trailers and updates so stay up.
